Unhurried Curiosity

Greetings!

Happy 2023! Today I'm writing this from home as we have gotten nearly 12 inches and counting of snow. As I work to slow down after a busy few weeks of birthdays, Christmas, and New Year's celebrations, I wanted to share my intention for this upcoming year. I've never really gotten into resolutions before, but this year my intention is to live with Unhurried Curiosity.

Unhurried Curiosity. What does that mean? I'm still working that out, but to me it has something to do with slowing down, listening more, being curious rather than judgmental, and not worrying so much about the end result. I'd like to grow in this patient, curious way towards myself, my husband, my kids, and the path that is unfolding. A few days ago I shared this intention with some close friends, and they challenged me with actionable steps towards this intention. I said so far my steps were to share the intention out loud and write it on an index card and tape it to my mirror :D So here's to sharing it with you all, so that this intention might root itself and grow, slowly yet steadily, in this new year.

I also wanted to share this song that came on as my kids were dancing in the living room the other night: It's Gonna Be Okay by The Piano Guys. Just one caveat-sometimes, we do not feel okay. Sometimes we see and experience great suffering. And this is real, and we must honor and hold it. And as we move through times of struggle and suffering, we also hold onto our worth, our strengths, and each other, and through this find a way to be okay. I hope you enjoy the song, and maybe dance in your living room as you listen :) "No matter what you've been through, here you are. No matter if you think you're falling apart, it's gonna be okay."

May we be safe, healthy, have joy, and live in peace.
